Unique part-time opportunity for a newly created role of HR Manager with a growing charity.

We are proud to be partnering with such a worthwhile and important organisation close to our hearts, who offer counselling and mental health support to the children and young people in the London Boroughs of Croydon, Sutton and Merton.

The charity has grown in the last 4 years from 45 employees to 71 staff with 5 sites in total across the boroughs. The role will require initially regular meets on the sites with the Directors and Service Managers to build relationships, understand current processes and to establish, implement a best in class HR service to managers and employees across the organisation, allowing them to focus on the essential work of the charity.

This will be a part-time role for 21 hours per week across 4 days (minimum). After an initial period, flexibility in terms of home working is available. This is an exciting opportunity, a blank canvas where you can really make this your own in a stand-alone HR capacity.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Day to Day HR Admin (including contracts, on boarding compliance, job descriptions, DBS checks and updating staff details)
  • Managing the recruitment and induction process from start to finish
  • Updating the staff handbook and policies
  • Work closely with the directors and service leads, providing them with expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities, including policies and procedures, terms and conditions, absence management, performance management, disciplinary’s and grievances
  • To develop, implement and maintain new HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair, and consistent management of employees throughout the organisation.
  • Take charge of existing HR processes and review best and effective ways or working to manage:
    • Absence
    • Holiday and TOIL
    • End of probation
    • Reviews and appraisals
    • Flexible working requests
  • Researching, reviewing, and implementing new HR software if required
  • Supporting and developing the CPD learning for the Charity
  • Organising Charity social events and promoting employee engagement

 

Experience and abilities:

  • Self-starter
  • Share the Charities aims and values
  • CIPD qualified (At least Diploma level)
  • Experienced in setting systems and HR process (at least 3 years)
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
