Our Client, a successful, fast-paced manufacturing business are recruiting an HR manager, reporting to an HR Director and responsible for a small HR team. You will be responsible to deliver people management solutions and to support managers and staff on all aspects of people management, current legislation, best practice, and recruitment which supports the Board overall strategic aims and objectives. You will continue to maintain and develop all aspects of the HR function including policies and procedures and provide a customer focused HR service. This opportunity would suit candidate who is able to work to at executive level but happy initially to report into an HRD and be involved in day to day HR activities.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build people management capability including overseeing and training managers in the entire performance management process from probation to appraisals, promotions, talent and performance management and employee relations issues.
  • Organise training courses to build management capability. 
  • Assist the Director of HR to manage talent pools and succession plans.
  • Work with department heads to define a training budget each year.
  • Take on casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy and relevant paperwork is issued
  • To assist the Director of HR to improve the way they motivate, and engage staff
  • Help develop internal communications strategies to ensure communications are effectively coordinated.
  • To advise line managers on writing job descriptions and adverts
  • Manage third party recruitment suppliers 
  • Assist hiring managers with the selection process
  • Review and verify all new employee documentation and references including working visas
  • Build, develop and promote an effective and collaborative HR team 
  • Inspire, lead and motivate people through regular feedback, 1:1’s. PDP’s and clear measurable objectives.
  • Drive the long-term business agenda. 
  • Involvement on project related work in particular ESG and champion of mental health

  

Experience and skills required:

  • Strong experience of operating in an HR Generalist role
  • Solid experience of managing recruitment
  • CIPD qualification 
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
  • Pro-active, engaging and positive approach
  • Works at pace and achieves tight deadlines
  • Drives for results
