Job: HR Adviser
Location: East Kent / Hybrid (1 Day WFH)
Employment type: Permanent, Full-time (40 weeks per year – Term Time)

An established and ambitious education organisation in Kent is seeking a confident and commercially aware HR Adviser to join its central People function. This is a term-time only opportunity offering genuine influence, visible impact and some hybrid flexibility. This HR Adviser role is suited to an HR professional who is comfortable handling complex employee relations matters, advising senior leaders and driving consistent, compliant people practices across multiple sites.
You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, delivering pragmatic, solutions-focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, investigations and absence management.
- Coaching and developing line managers to build capability and confidence.
- Supporting safe and structured return-to-work plans, including complex health cases.
- Ensuring employment law compliance and policy integrity.
- Leveraging HRIS data (iTrent) to drive informed workforce decision-making.
- Contributing to Trust-wide initiatives focused on retention, engagement and workforce stability.
- Leading on absence management, ensuring monitoring is conducted effectively and in accordance with policy.
The Profile:
You will demonstrate:
- CIPD Level 5 or CIPD Level 3 with good experience
- Strong technical knowledge of UK employment legislation.
- Proven experience independently managing complex casework.
- Gravitas and credibility with senior stakeholders.
- A coaching-led, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ideally, experience within education or a safeguarding environment
- Team player
