A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as Head of People and Development for a fast-paced, growth and entrepreneurial FMCG business. This SME business works in a diverse, results driven and dynamic environment with ambitious plans for the future and a current track record of success. Reporting into the CEO, this role must embody their values in the way that it interacts with their people and ensure they meet where possible customer and employee expectations and strive to deliver exceptional experience for teams that is legally compliant and ethical beyond approach. You will develop and own a proactive People strategy, analysis, process and implementation to ensure that they deliver on Company objectives and achieve their goal of being first choice partner for their products. The role will play a key part in the leadership of an ambitious business through continued growth.

This role will require travel to sites based in Mid Kent area and South West London.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Driving success through people and development practices
  • Contributing to development and delivery of the overall people strategy and structure
  • Identify innovative people projects
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues on the leadership team on strategic projects
  • Responsible for people related compliance as well tech expert for all people matters, supporting management team and Directors in this area
  • Understanding, support and champion of engagement and culture
  • Champion of a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment that delivers results and design and implement practices to support this
  • Design and deploy recruitment strategies, tactics and tools to attract the best people to the business, strengthen external relationships to access diverse and qualified pools of talent
  • Develop learning and development framework to focus on capabilities and skills required to achieve strategic objectives now and in the future in line with strategic aim of “delivering today and imagining tomorrow”
  • Coordinating performance management across the business by creating and delivering consistent talent management processes that reflect pace and requirements
  • Coaching Managers in performance management, providing them with guidance on people management, company policies and employee wellbeing
  • Data reporting and metrics to drive strategic insight and support managers in evidence-based decision making and presenting data to leadership team

  

 Person Specification:

  • CIPD Level 5 with solid HR business partnering gained from multi-site customer centric environment
  • Experience in operating effectively in an ambiguous, fast paced and constantly changing environment with limited central support functionality
  • Ability to think conceptually and strongly contribute to strategy
  • A true team player, natural people person with strong networking ability
  • Experience with innovative change efforts, including developing and implementing detailed change management plans
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills across multiple business functions
