An exciting, varied, senior leadership opportunity has arisen where you will be a key contributor to the delivery of the people agenda and People and Inclusion strategy, implementing best fit solutions that support the organisation in achieving its strategic goals. You will also be contributing to all merger work in relation to forthcoming partnership, and additional individual TUPE’s (insourcing) whilst providing strategic, proactive leadership and direction to the People Business Partners ensuring a consistent ‘People Service’ that is commercially focused, adds value and manages risk. The role location is flexible either in Mid Kent or South London locations and affords flexibility to work from home/hybrid working.

 

 Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering Executive Team and broader leadership team on complex HR matters, HR strategy and organisational change.
  • Taking the lead role in people management delivery and overseeing the most complex organisational issues, including business change, restructuring and complex employee relations matters
  • Represent Clients interest in discussions between internal bodies and representatives regarding TUPE issues, identifying any risks and concerns in relation to merger
  • Strategic risk management of Employment ‘Tribunal ER cases and litigation matters
  • Accountable for overseeing proactive management and resolution of all employee relations casework across the organisation ensuring  People Business Partners are managing casework effectively and consistently with people managers
  • Ensure consistency, effectiveness and the robust management of risk
  • Leading on the people aspects of restructures and change, processes ensuring activities are completed within timescales, budget and legislation
  • Inspire, lead and be a role model, consistently demonstrating the culture and values
  • Ensure regular and adhoc board and committee papers and any required reporting is completed to agreed timescales
  • Attend and engage fully in any learning and development activities that are deemed appropriate by your line management
  • Manage the performance of all direct reports in accordance with organisational procedures

 

Skills and experience:

  • CIPD Qualified 
  • Strong people management skills to inspire, motivate staff and to delegate effectively
  • Ability to draft succinct and effective board and committee papers and review the written work of others, often to tight deadlines
  • Generalist experience gained at a senior level in a fast paced, geographically dispersed organisation
  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and progressive people practices and the ability to apply pragmatism in a variety of often complex situations
  • Experience of leading a range of complex people projects including TUPE transfers, redundancy and organisation change programmes
