The Employee Relations and Change lead role reports to the Executive People Director and accountable for a business partnering team of 5 people ensuring consistent people service that is customer focussed and manages risk and employee relations, providing the escalation point for complex issues. You will lead on all ET cases and on all people related merger and integration planning activities in relation to a forthcoming partnership together with individual TUPE insourcing activity.

This is an exciting challenge for an individual with extensive experience of leading large scale, change and TUPE transfers/mergers in complex, geographically dispersed organisations.

 

Accountabilities include:

  • Develop, lead and implement detailed TUPE processes and project plans, proactively detailing  required actions, milestones and  ensuring deadlines for delivery are met and   regularly reporting on progress.
  • Ensure Client meets all legislative and statutory obligations in relation to TUPE/merger activities and colleagues and key stakeholders are proactively engaged throughout.
  • Ensure the collection and analysis of people related information and data to ensure evidence-based decision making.
  • Provide advice and guidance on integration of all staff and impact on individuals, terms and conditions, policies etc.
  • Ensure all regular and ad-hoc board and committee papers are completed to agreed timescales and to a high standard.
  • Leading effectively all People related workstreams of activity and ensuring work is delegated appropriately across the team.
  • Lead on all strategic change management activities identifying all potential  risks and putting in place robust  measures to address and mitigate.
  • Leading the scoping and scheduling of consultation meetings, considering impact on colleagues, devising detailed plans to ensure comprehensive, timely, transparent, robust and engaging communication.
  • Partner with Leadership Team colleagues on complex HR matters, HR strategy and organisational change.
  • Ensure a high-quality business partnering service at all levels of the organisation.

  

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (MCIPD)
  • Demonstrable start to finish TUPE/merger experience is essential. 
  • Significant experience in the design and implementation of large scale change 
  • Though knowledge and understanding of employment policy and current legislation and its practical application
  • Up to date and proven experience of managing effectively complex employee relations issues
