Excellent 18-month contract opportunity has arisen for a Communications Manager within a highly reputable and flexible hybrid working culture organisation. You will report into Head of Comms and design and manage two comms officers, delivering communications strategies in order to promote corporate interests as reflected in the strategic plan. You will respond to media issues in order to protect and enhance corporate reputation and produce a broad range of customer communication activities, working with key business areas to identify and deliver measurable communications solutions. 18-month contract to start May 2022 - Hybrid Working - Office in Dartford

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work with the Head of Communications and Design to implement internal and external communications strategies and a social media strategy in line with aims, values, and strategic plan
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of communications and publications, using customer insight and organisational needs and priorities to shape them
  • Help deliver digital strategy
  • Undertake a creative role in the development of websites, intranet, and other online communications
  • Write, edit, and distribute creative and engaging content, for print and digital channels, such as news stories and articles, press releases, internal and external publications, reports and briefings to both internal and external audiences.
  • Manage press office and deliver strategic engagement with the media to support targeted communication campaigns
  • Respond to media enquiries, co-ordinating with the appropriate members of staff to ensure accurate responses
  • Act as a first point of contact in ‘crisis PR’ situations
  • Manage the development of social media channels, promoting and growing its presence
  • Identify areas of potential reputational risk through close partnership working with operational colleagues
  • Help manage the process for out-of-hours media enquiries and respond to these enquires as required
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the business, providing creative communications solutions for internal departments in your 'patch' as part of the Communications Business Partner model
  • Work with the Design Team to communicate design needs from key business areas and ensure that the brand is employed appropriately within all publications. 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

  • A good standard of education with excellent written / verbal English
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly MS Word
  • Good awareness of data protection legislation and the Property Misdescriptions Act
  • A working knowledge of legislation relating to copyright and reproduction rights
  • A developed sense of creative design relating to corporate literature
  • Some knowledge of using design software to produce leaflets, literature, and online information. 
  • Expertise in researching, writing, and publishing press releases.
